The home team, w ith four wickets down for 106, continued their first innings, rh ; h closed for a total of 209, or 61 runs ahead of the Australians. O'Br.'an, with 92,’ and Page, with 33, were amongst tbe top scorers. The Australians went in for their second innings, and succeeded in patting together 168. McDonnell, stumped, 36, and Midwinter, caught, 45, were the highest scorers. Tbe. fielding of the home team was very good. The Oxford men now require to make 103 runs to wih the match. Great interest is being taken in the contest. London, May 17. The cricket match, Australians v. Oxford University, was resumed at Oxford to*day, and resulted in the defeat of the visitors. The home team, requiring 103 rnns to win the match, went in for their second innings, and put together that number with the loss of only three wickets; thus winning the match by seven wickets. Kemp, not out, was the highest scorer with 63.
