FIRES.

—- [by tblboraph.] Auckland, To-day. The Masonic Hotel at Coromandel was totally destroyed by fire at one o’clock this morning. Nothing was saved. The Oddfellows lost their regalia, worth LSO. The insurance on the building was L9OO, and on the fdrnit ure L2OO in the orwich Union Office. Dunedin, To-day. Three wooden shops in George street were burned down early this morning. They were occupied by Thomas Scott (fruiterer), Alexander and Shepherd (butchers), and David Miller (grocer). Scott’a stock was insured in the Equitable for LIOO, Shepherd’s for L 250 in the London and Lancashire, and Miller’s for L6OO in the Hamburg end Magdeburg. The latter’a is a partial loss. The buildings wete insured by the owner (Mr James Galbraith, of London) in the London and Lancashire for L6OO. The fire is supposed to have been caused by a spark from an open fireplace in Scott’s shop.
