[by telegraph.] Wvllingtom, To-day

Messrs Levin and Co., agents of the steamer Napier, receive t a telegram this morning, stating the steamer Napier went ashore inside the mouth of the Rangitikei river, She is making a great deal of water, and assistance is immediately wanted. Later The steamer Napier is insured for L 2,260, distributed amongst several offices, the names of which are not yet known. Captain Bendall, of the Underwriters’ Association, leaves for Hangitikei to-night.

Bulls, To-day. The a s. Napier is ashore on the south spit of the Rangitikei river.
