[by telegraph.] Dunedin, To-day. William Yielding was sentenced to four years’ for burglary at Clyde. Newton, convicted of abusing a child aged twelve, was sentenced to seven yean and twenty-five lashes. He gave hia age as forty-five. Ah Chew, who pleaded guilty to burglarj, was sentenced to four yean’ penal servitude.

At the Supreme Court Joseph Lyons was convicted of passing valueless cheques, and was sentenced to 12 months’ with hard labor.
