Frozen Meat. London, Jan. 3. Arrived—Steamship Teviotdale, from Sydney (Oct. 27th). She brings a cargo of frozen sheep, numbering 12,000 carcases, which have been examined and found to be in good order. A New Loan. The Bans rate, of discount remains at 3 per cent., and the market rate 2}4- Consols ioc>3£. Arrival of the lonic. London, Jan. 4. Arrived Steamship lonic, from Lyttelton, November 24th. Egyptian Affairs. It has* transpired that at the Cabinet Council, held yesterday, the position of affairs in Egypt was discussed at length, but it is understood that no definite decision was arrived at as to the line of action which should be taken for completing the pacification and consolidation of that country. A nother meetingof the Cabinet will, however, take place to-day, when it is expected that a decision involving the adoption of important measures will be agreed to. -- ; Alexandria, Jan. 3. It is announced that the Khedive has decided to renounce one-teath of the amount of the annual civil list which is now paid out of the public revenue. . ; The Land Leaguers. New York, Jan. 4. Mr Redmond, M.P. for New Ross, who is now in San Francisco, is engaged in furthering the objects of the Irish Nationrl League. Mr Redmond will remain a month in America, and has arranged to. deliver an address upon Irish affairs at a large number of places.
