LATEST FHOVS EUROPE [BKUTBB’s TKX.EGRAMB COPYRIGHT.] The British Queen’s Cargo. London, Dec. 20. A portion of the frozen mutton ex British Queen was sold this morning at an average of s^d. The New South Wales Loan. Tenders for the New South Wales 4 per cent loan of three millions were opened to-day. The total amount offered was 1.7,590,000. Tenders at looji'jj will receive 96 per cent, tenders above that will be allotted the full amount. English Troops in Egypt. The rumors to the effect that the number'of British troops in Egypt is to be increased has received an official denial. The Royal Dublin Regiment of Fusiliers, who are under orders for Egypt, are only going as reliefs for troops whose period of foreign service is concluded. Monetary and Commercial. The total reserve in the Bank of England in notes and bullion remains at Li 3,000,000. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has fallen 1 per cent, and is now 43 per cent. The Bank rate of discount remains at 3 per cent, and the market rate 2 Consols are unchanged at 100%. There are no changes to report in the markets for colonial securities or produce. The Mails. London, Deo. 21. The homeward mails via Suez and Brindisi, dated Melbourne, Nov. Bth, were delivered here yesterday.
