[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] Infanticide. Wklungxon, To-day. A case of iufanticide is reported this morning. A young girl named Kate Boylan, aged nineteen, engaged as a
domestic servant to a gentleman in Wellington, gave birth this morning to a full grown female child, and subsequently the infant was discovered in the outhouse. The body was removed, and is awaiting an inquest. The mother of the child will be taken to the hospital this afternoon. An axe stained with blood has been discovered. Supreme Court./ 1 ■ Timaku, To-day. At the Supreme jCourt James Cheyne, charged with highway robbery and common assault, wos acauitted on the former and found guilty on the latter count, and was sentenced to seven months, having been in gaol already five months. Fire. Dunedin, To-day. The fire at Lawrence broke out in premises unoccupied at night. The loss is about L 220, mostly covered by insurance.
