Your To H, T. Winter, Feq., and the Ratepayers of Wakanui signing the requisition—
Gentlemen —It has at all times afforded me great i leasure to take part in every work tending to develope the resources of the County of Ashburton. When recently I resigned my seat for the Upper Ashburton Riding, I felt that the most important works in the County had been successfully completed, and that ir, would be a relief to me, to be free fora time from a portion of my public duties. However, your requisition just received indicates so strong a desire on the part of the ratepayers that I should again fill & seat at the County Council, that I fpel it my duty to spt Aside personal considerations, and have much pleasure in acceding to your request. Yours faithfully, EDWARD G. WRIGHT. Ashburton, BtbDec., 1883. 12 1036
