Ashburton Guardian Office, Wednesday afternoon. , Messrs Matson, Cox and Co. held their usual weekly sale of sheep, cattle, etc., at the Tinwald yards on Tuesday, December 4th: — The entry for sheep and cattle was more nume- 1 rous than usual, and the attendance and bidding better, all lots offered being sold. Fat crossbred, ewes from 13s yd to 14s id ; crossbred hoggetts, 10s 6d to 12s 8d; merino wethers, 8s 3d to 9s 2d; merino ewes and lambs, 10s sd. Cattle—Fat steers, from L$ 23 6d to Ly ys 6d; fat cows, from L$ ys 6d to •Ly;? springers, from L 4 to L 8 2s 6d; yearling steers, Li 18s.
