The following report was read : I. Chertsey road : The reformation at the side's of this road has been so far completed, we have not given final certificate as the work has not been done accoiding to specification, and till it is done so certificate will be withheld.—2. Winter’s road, continuation of formation ; The contractor is at work on this road —3. Cochrane’s road : The contractor for re-forming is proceeding with his work.— 4. Wakanui Township Road : According to instructions we have inspected the present ford over the Wakauui creek on this road, there is a hole in the ford which would make it rather difficult to get through with a heavy load, but which we doubt not could be remedied with a few loads of stones, as we are informed the water in the creek will be turned off in a week or two; perhaps it would be as well to let it remain as it is till then—when if it is decided to improve the ford, it could then be well done, and any soft parts excavated and filled with boulders—the estimated cost of erecting a bridge would be L6O; we might state that there seems to be a fair amount of traffic on this road, but should not like to state definitely whether the expenditure on a bridge is warranted.—s- Skim ploughing and Seafield Roads: In conjunction with Mr Bruce tenders were called for this work, and that of T. Daly at rod per chain was accepted, the work to be completed in one month.—6.
