Fat we disposed of at from 2d up to 2 fid per lb: all the tots offered commanding keen competition.' : Hides, green, 3#d; wet salted, 3#d; dry salted, 3%d ; cut and damaged, 2 *|d; calfskins, 3%d per lb. Messrs. Miles and Co. (per J. T. Ford) report *n the Addington \ ards stock sales ■ as follows i —A fair supply of both fat and store sheep penned. At the opening of the sales the biddings, for fat sheep were languid, and several tots were withdrawn, but these were afterwards sold privately. As the auction sales progressed a few lines were bought for freezing purposes, which helped to raise prices, so that on the whole there was no material from previous quotations, but it is evident that when sheep are not wanted for export values- will recede. Prime crossbred wethe s (shorn) sold at from 15s to 18s, and crossbred wethers and maiden ewes in wool at from 18s to 21s; light crossbred wethers and ewes at from lis fid to 15s each; fat merino wethersin wool from 12s fid to 15s each; shorn do from ys 6d to 10s fid each, A large line, of crossbred 4 and ewes and wethers, first-class stores in wool, brought from ijsgd to'lfis fid; and shorn beriho wethers, stores, sold at 6s 3d Fat lambs, of which there was a large entry, sold at from ysßd to lis 3d each. Fat cattle, a moderate entry r (but quite sufficient for requirements), met t dragging sale throughout, with a slight decline on former rates. Store cattle —A somewhat lighter entry, and the demand more brisk, but prices about the same. Pigs—A large number brought forward. Large bacon jpigs selling at from L2 to L2 JOs ; porkers at from 24s to 3ys fid ; stores at from 13s to 235. W,e quote mutton in wool at 3#d per lb : shorti at from 2d to 3d per lb, according to quality. Beef from 20s to 23s per lO olb. ‘ The total numbers of stock yarded were 7,3(84 sheep, 3yo head of cattle, and 233 pigs. Privately during the week we have sold 700 sheep for freezing at prices equal to above quotations. Wool—We held our first wool sale On Tuesday, 17 th inst, when we submitted about 600 bales. There was a large attendance of local buyers, and competition was fairly.brisk qtprices from id to ifid, tower than-last season’s. The Sydney Markets. The New Zealand loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report of the Sydney, markets, under date Nov. 21, as follows -Wool: Quite an impetus has been given to the trade by reason of the strong demami and keen.competition, on American account, for light free wools. These have realised within the past fortnight figures which must have been in the highest degree Satisfactory to growers, and will no doubt, go a tong way to determine hesitating holders to try the local markets. Large catalogues are now being offered almost daily, and the amount of business doing is, very considerable. The market continues firm at the following rates :—Light Free Combing, good ,to fine, I2d to I4fid ; fair to goqd;>ij£d to lod ; low qualities, fid to scoured'fleece, ißd to 2id; scoured pieces, lsd to ißd.—Sheeepskins show a slight improvement in price, and increased briskness in demand. We quote :—Full.woolled, sfid to 7<i; , Medium; 3d to sd. —Tallow; A slightly' easier tone pervades this market, though the demand is fair, at following rates : —Best mutton, L 35 per ton ; best beet, L 33 per ton; mixdd and inferior, L2B to L3o. Oats : Wc offered some 15,060 bushels at .our sale a day cr two since, and had to withdraw abouMHie-haff,'business being very flat, consequent upon the heavy decline in maize. We made sides as' follows —Bright potato oats, 2s yd per bushel; bright Danish, 2s 3d; dull ♦artarians, 2s id.
