Ashburton Guardian Office, » . Saturday afternoon. * Messrs FrieJlander Bros., in conjunction with Messrs K. Wilkin and Co. (per Mr F. C. -Tabart, auctioneer), report on the live stock market as follows:—At the Tinwald yards on Tuesday last only small numbers of stock were yarded, undoubtedly on account of the inclement weather., Our entries were as follows : —Fat sheep ;■ 49 crossbred ewes and wethers we sold at 10s fid, 30 shorn hoggets ns Sd, 30 fat shorn>ethers 7s Bd. In stores we sold a lineiof 220,. shorn hoggets at ns 3d. Store sheep arCin brisk demand. During the week we sold privately on account Mr Geo. Grice a line 0f653 me ino ewes and lambs at ns, and •n account of Mir S. Cox, 530 well-grown hoggets at 14s rod. We also placed on account of other clients 19 fat steers at L 7 10s; 12 at Lfi 12s fid; 69 stores at L 3 10s. We quote on ; the average, prime mutton in wool, 3%d and shorn 2#d to 2 Beef we quote from 18s to 23s per loolbs.
