RULES. 1. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly'resident in ( the Counties of Ashburton or Geraldine from September 27, 1883, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in one or both of the said Counties during the same period. 2. General rules of Ashburton Racing Club and Canterbury Jockey Club racing rules strictly adhered to, and new scale of weight for age adopted, 3. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all moneys payable in accordance with programme, for expenses of the course. 4. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the stewards, dr whom they may appoint, their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this programme to foe final, and entries will only be received subject to these conditions. ! 5. All nominations and acceptances go i to the fund. All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, and colors of and in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Beecher’s Central Hotel, Ashburton, not later than 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.
