, Ashburton Guardian Office, ' Wednesday afternoon. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited (per Mr E. G. Staveley, auctioneer), report on the sales held at Tinwald on Tuesday, the 6th Nov., as follows A moderate entry of both sheep and cattle was yarded, but owing to the dullness of the market, especially in Cattle, not much business resulted. The attendance was meagre, and an absence of buyers was particularly noticeable. Sheep : Fat merino wethers brought 6s 2d, ios, io 6d, 13s ; fat crossbreds, mixed sexes, brought 14s, 17s 6d, 19s 6d ; fat crossbred hoggets, 10s lid. Cattle : A fair entry was yarded, but no improvement rim yet be recorded in prices, the greater number being cased in. Fat steers, L44sto L 7; fat heifers, Ls 17s 6d, L? is to L 9 2s 6d; stores. Sliced sexes, Lj ss, L 3 14s to L 5 10s, and et'With little competition.
