Winslow Cup (Handicap), valued at 5 guineas, with 20 sovs, added : second horse to save his stakes ; nomination, LI ; acceptance, LI. 3. Trotting Rack (Handicap), of 5 sovs ; nomination, 5s ; acceptance, ss. Two miles. 4. Maiden Plate, o c 6 sovs ; weight for age ; entrance, 10s. One mile. 5. Consolation Race (Handicap), of 5 sovs ; nomination, &s ; acceptance, 6s. One mile. RULES: No one will be allowed to enter a horse unless a subscriber of half a guinea to the fund, or when the prize is L2O or over, one guinea. All horses to have been owned in the County three months prior to the races. Three horses start or no race.
I No protest will be entertained unless LI be deposited with the Secretary within 30 minutes after the race is run, which will be forfeited should the same, in the opinion of the Committee, prove frivilous. jSo one allowed to train a horse on the course one week before the races, under penalty of being disqualified. Railway Notices. ZEALAND RAILWAYS. (Christchurch Section.) CHRISTCHURCH RACES, November 6th, 7th, and Bth, AND AGRICULTURAL SHOW, November Bth and 9th. f aturday Return Tickets to Christ* church will be issued at Pukeuri, Waikari, or any intermediate station (where through booking is in force) from the sth to the 9th Nov. inc’usive, and will be available for return up to and including the 15th. On the 6th, 7th, Bth and 9tli Nov. the evening train from Christchurch to Ath* burton will leave at 450 p.m., and run 35 minutes later than usual. On the 6th, Bth and 9th the morning train from Methven to Rakaia will run same as on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The evening train from Rakaia to Methen will start at 7 p.m. on the 6th, 7th, Bth and 9th.
On the 30th a special train will leave Ashburton for Oamaru at 11.35 a.m., stopping where required On the 9th, instead of the ordinary 7-30 a.m. train from Timaru to A.-hbur-ton and the 10 55 a.m. from Ashburton to Christchurch, a train will run as under:— Timaru ...dep 6.45 Washdyke Tetnuka Winchester Orari Rangitata Ealing Hiuds Winslow Tinwald 6.67 7-22 7.37 7.51 8,9 8,26 8 52 9.11 9.22 Ashburton arr 9.30 Ashburton dep 9 4) Chertsey dep 10.13 Kakaia Dunsandel Selwyn Burnham Rolleston Templeton 10 29 11.1 11.12 11 28 11.40 11 56 p. m. 32 7 32 24 Hornby Addington Christchurch arr 12.30 Stopping to pick up or set down passengers at Platform Stations if required. A special train v. ill leave Christchurch at 815 p.m. on the (bh for Oamaru, arriving there at about 5 30 a.m.—stopping where required to allow passengers to alight. This train will taKe passengers and also live stock returning from the Show.
Goods traffic will be entirely suspended on the 9th. FARES: PRINCE OF WALES BIRTHDAY.
