A proclamation has been gazetted in reference to the alleged purchase of land from the natives in the Kabadi district, New Guinea, declaring that, in the event of New Guinea being annexed to Queensland, all such purchases will be declared illegal and treated accordingly. It also affirms the probability of such purchases being prohibited by the Federated Colonies if the territory is placed under their jurisdiction, and in any case by the Imperial Government.
