The following is the Christchurch Com Exchange report for the week ending Friday evening, the 2nd hist ' The market during the past week has been void of any feature worthy of particular notice. There has been a few large parcels offering, the prices asked, however, not being such as to induce buyers to operate; Values show very little or no Change.—Wheat: Second milling, 3s 9d to 4s per bushel, delivered at Chri-tchurch ; second quality, 3s 3d to 3s 6d; chick wheat, is lod to 23 3d per bushel.—Oats : Prime milling, 2s id to 2s 2d per bushel, f,o.b. ; bright short feed is nd to 2S ; inferior and discolored, is SdtoAs lOd per bushel.—Barley : First-class malting, 4s 3d to 4s 6d per bushel, very little offering ; second quality, 3s 6d to 3s 8d per bushel ;-feed, is ud to 2s 2d.—Grass Seed ; Fanners? 3s 3d to 3s 6d per bushel; machine dressed of extra quality, up to 4s 3d per bushel.; cocksfoot, to 4|fd per lb. — Potatoes : 25s to 27s 6d at country stations.— Cheese and Butter : to 5 d foT the former, and fid to yd for the latter. Kegs extra.

Messrs Miles and Co. report upon the live Stock market for the week, ending Thursday November.' I, as follows Addington —At these yards a very large entry of stock of all classes came forward The trade, however, (owing to the fact that during race and show week no stock sales will take place at Addinghad to provide for a fortnight s supply, and in consequence the extra quantity to hand had only a slight effect on prices, which, however, were easier than last week. The totals yarded were 8,758 sheep, 786 cattle, and 180 pigs, of which our entries comprise.! 2,500 sheep, 181 cattle. Our quotations for the week are—Mutton, for shorn sheep, to 3&dfh-the wool. Fat cattle—A large supply of beef came to hand, but with a few exceptions not up to the usual quality. The demand was light, and prces were dull as compared with last week’s rates. We quote beef at from 20s to 22s 6d per xoolbs. —Fat lambs ; A fairly large entry, quality being,"however, as a whole rather below the average. There is no "alteration in values to quote, sales'being made at 7s 6d to 14s.— Pigs:- Fair entry of porkers, of which the quality was good ; there was keen competition, prices ruling about recent quotations. Store sheep; A somewhat larger entry than last week; ‘ Enquiry active and sales were readily effected, for crossbred hoggets from ns up to 14s 6d}‘ merino do, a splendid line, at 13s id; .crossbred ewes and lambs (with good percentage), at from 13s to 21s, according to quality and age; merino do, at from 9s to 13s. —Store cattle: A very large entry, the demand, was very small, and sales were extremely difficult to effect, several large lines being passed in unsold. Wool, Skins' Hide*, and Fat: At our usual sale ”bn Thursday we had a large entiy of butchers’ and country skins, which realised satisfactory prices. Butchers’ crossbreds, 4s, 4s qd, 4s nd, 5s 2d, 5s 5d ; merinos, 4s 6d, 5s 4d, Ss Bd, ss qd, Ss lod; country crossbreds, 3s Qd, 4s, 4s 6d, 5s ; merino, Ss, 5s 4d i factory crossbred, 4s gd, ss, Ss 2d, 53 3d; ‘merino, 5s Bd, 5s gd, Fat,. 2.14 d, zHd, 2Vd, per lb. Hides and calfskins, 3#d per lb. —At West Melton on Friday last we held a most successful sale of Mr Peter Giant’s live and dead stock, at which there was a.very large attendance, and prices were extremely satisfactory. We sold draught horses* at LlB, L 24, L 2 6; hacks up to Ll 3. — At Ashburton on Monday last we submitted to auction' the Red Lion Brewery, which we quitted to Mr O. Digby at a satisfactory price. —Land: At our Hereford street land salerooms we-'offered' the Messrs Jackson’s farm at Mitcham, which we placed to Mr H. Mcllraith at L 5 10 per acre. We also sold Mr A. Stace’s farm at Springston at Lll per acre.
