[REUTER’S TKLKOBAMS COPYRIGHT.] t. The Wool Sales. Melbourne, Yesterday. At the wool sale to day the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company catalogued 3,400 bales, of which 2,260 were sold. The catalogue comprised unusually choice lots, including several leading clips from the Western district. A parcel of 210 bales of- greasy was sold at the highest price this season; scoured brought up to Prices are generially very satisfactory. There was a large attendance of buyers, and a brisk competition was again experienced. The opening rates of the season; were firmly maintained. Shipping. ~ Sydney, Yesterday. Sailed, this afternoon —City of New York, for San Francisco, via Auckland, with Li 22,000 specie. Mrs Hampson, evangelist, was a passenger. A Chinese Affray. Brisbane, Yesterday. A serious affray occurred to-day among Chinese on a plantation near Cairns. One man was killed and three were wounded. [Received Nov. 2,2 50 p.m.] The Victorian Parliament. Melbourne, To-day. The. Victorian Parliament will be formally prorogued to-morrow.
