KING O’ THE VANQUISHERS, rising 4 years, is a beautiful b,;y with splendid action and fine temper, and has got more bone and hair of the right sort than any other colt of his age in New Zealand. Pedigree : The King was bred by Messrs Fleming and Hedley, out of their famous brood mare Miss M'Oormick, imported from Melbourne. Mias M'Connick was purchased by the lite David Nesbitt from M'Connick Bros., Tasmania, and w.s specially selected for her breeding qualh ties —the correctness of that judgment has now been fully verified. Miss M'Cormick by Lincolnshire Hero; g d by Black Champion. (See New Zealand Stud nook.) King o’ the Vanquishers is by that famous stallion Young Vanquisher, imported from Scotland by the late David Nesbitt; g sire, Vanquisher, first prize at Oamaru in the 3 year old class. Young Vanquisher’s dam by Lochfergus Champion, g d by Champion, better known to breeders by the name of Blair’s Champion. As : a 3-year-old, Young Vanquisher was first at Geelong, third at ihe Grand National, Melbourne; as a 4-year-old, first at Geelong and second at Ballarat the same year.
