AGRICULTRIAL AND PASTORAL ASSOCIATION.
A special general meeting of the Agri cultural and Pastoral Association took' place this afternoon in the Arcade Chambers, Mr Joseph Hunt, vice-president of the Association in the chair. There wu a very poor attendance. The following new members were admitted :—Messrs Donald Potts, O. Hardy, . J. Haydon, J. Benning, E. Herring. A very lengthy discussio took place re* - garding whether the show should be held next year at Tinwald or Ashburton, and it was proposed by Mr C. T. Dudley—. “That the show be held at Tinwald.” This was seconded by Mr D. Thomas and carried. Mr W. Wilkinson, speaking of the.size of the bags at present used by farmers for their grain, said they were iar too . large—bags containing four bushels of, wheat being more than the ordinary man could handle, and he gave notice of the following motion :—“ That the Secretary write to kindred Associations throughout Canterbury and Otago, 'asking their’cooperation in agitating for reform in this matter.” as there was nothing else of importance the meeting adjourned.
