TO Travel this Season in the Ashburton district, the Thorough-bred entire Daniel O’Rourke. Daniel O’Rourke was got by Sledmere (a), dam Bmnette (a); by Tadmor, dam by Hetman Platoff— Birthday, by Pantaloon— Bonoria, by Camel. Sledmere, by j Daniel O’Rourke, dam by Sleight-of-Hand —Hampton (brown) mare. Daniel O’Rourke has been a very good performer on the turf : he has proved himi self such by winning the Christchurch Cup and Derby in 1876 If mated with good mares he can produce good racing stock. He is the sire of Badsworth, Sir George, and others too numerous to particularise. A horse of his description should be well patronised in the district. Daniel will travel the following districts ; —Kyle, Wakanui road, Waterton, North and South of the River, Longbeach, Winslow, Tinwald, and remain in his box the end of the week at M-’ Beecher’s Central Hotel until Monday.

KING O’ THE VANQUISHERS, rising 4 years, is a beautiful bay with splendid action and fine temper, and has got more bone and hair of the right sort than any other colt of his age in New Zealand. Pedigree : The King was bred by Messrs Fleming and Hedley, out of their famous brood mare Miss M’Cormick, imported from Melbourne. Miss M'Cormick was purchased by the lite David Nesbitt frorti M'Cormick Bros., Tasmania, and was specially selected for her breeding qualities —the correctness of that judgment has now been fully verified. King o’ the Vanquishers is by that famous stallion Young Vanquisher, imported from Scotland by the late David Nesbitt; g sire, Vanquisher, first prize at Oamaru in the 3 year old class. Young Vanquisher’s dam by tochfergiis Champion, g d by Champion, better known to breeders by the name of Blair’s Champion. As a 3-year-old, Young Vanquisher was first at Geelong, third at the Grand National, Melbourne; as a 4-year-old, first at Geelong and second at Ballarat the same year. Cassivelanua is a bright bay, with black points, standing over 16 hands, and showing immense power and great quality. As a two-year-old he won two races at Newmarket, beating large fields. Caractacus is in every way most worthy the notice of breeders who fancy the Venison and Defence blood (and who could object to the latter especially '?) more particularly as he—as well as bearing a marked resemblance to his handsome son in other respects—has a good temper. . . .
