A demand was made to the French Government for further reparation than that already accorded by President Grevy’s apology. The demand having been refused by the French Government, King Alfonso required that further action should be - taken in the matter, but as the Spanish Ministry has not been able to agree that such a course was necessary, the Premier, Senor Sagasta, has tend.ered.the resignation of himself and his colleagues.
