Ashburton Guardian Office, Monday afternoon. : Mr T. Bullock reports of the Horse Market for the week ending Saturday, Octber 6:— There was a larger attendance than usual of country settlers and others, being the annual horse parade day. 2r horses were brought forward for the day’s sale, amongst which were 3 entries which I offered by auction, but the biddings were very languid and not reaching owners* reserves were passed in. For medium draughts the biddings were fairly spirited, and those sold brought ftll market' rates. The light horses offering just now being of an inferior description, those sold fetched low prices as Under. Out of the day’s entry of 21 I disposed of viz, medium draughts suitable for Birin work.-Lr6 to LlB ; broodmare, 7 years old/good stamp.
