ASHBURTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
The following business was transacted yesterday after we went to press:— ferryman. It was resolved to ask the Geraldine County Council whether they will contribute their subsidy to the ferryman at the Lower Bangitata.
WATER SUPPLY COMMITTEE,
Mr Taylor was appointed a member of the above Committee in the place of Mr Wright,
A RECREATION GROUND. Mr Macfarjaiie made an application to the Council to grapt police reserve No. 2027 to be a recreation ground for Alford Forest.—The application was granted. A OLUM. The claim of Mr Croy for L2 was passed. PLANTING BLOCKS. On the motion of Mr Bullock, seconded by Mr Taylor, Messrs Winter, Walker and the mover were appointed a Reserves Committee with power to act. TENDER. The tender of Furneaux and Dunlop for Coldstream race, at Is 4d per ciiain and 5s per ford, was accepted. NOTICE OB' MOTION. Mr Bullock gave notice that he would move at next meeting— “That a water rate fee struck in accordance wijth Mr Baxter’s suggestion after next meetipgj and estimates to bp prepared. The Council then adjourned till the 91st inst.
