Pretender is by Prince Charlie (imported from Scotland by Mr W. Boag) out of Maggie by King Fergus (imported from Scotland by Mr David Innes). Maggie’s dam imported from Tasmania. Pretender gained second prize at the Northern Show as a two-year-old in 1876. He also took second prize in 1877.
