FORESTERS COURT.

A special summoned meeting of Court Star of Ashburton was held last evening, in the Arcade Chamber, to meet the restrict officers from Christchurch, at which there was a very fair attendance of members, considering that several who would otherwise have been present were absent from Ashburton on business. The district officers present we:.e—W. 0. K. Maclean, A. T. Crooks and D. S. Gapes, who expressed the pleasure they felt at visiting Ashburton and meeting the brethren of'bourt Star of Ashburton, and gave the meeting several items of information respecting the progress of the Order in Canterbury, and their regret that the distance and time occupied was so great as to prevent more frequent visits here, but hoped on their next trip to find the Court stronger in numbers and flourishing, even more than in the past, especially as under the amended district laws, now in progress of compilation, the rates of initiation would be considerably reduced. 'J hey trusted a Juvenile Court would soon be formed. The night of meeting of the Court was changed from Tuesday to Thursday, commencing next meeting, and after a cordial vote of thanks had been passed, and the same responded to in a very interesting speech from D. T. Gapes, the meeting was closed in the usual form by the O.R.
