A NEW RAILWAY ENTERPRISE.
[bt telegraph.] Auckland, To-d»y. Letters received at Tauranga from Mr 6. Vesey Stewart state that the TaurangaRotorua Railway Company has been successfully floated in London, and there is no doubt of the project being accomplished. Letters from Mr Boddeil also state that the construction of the railway is a certainty, and that the s.S. Northumberland, 2,000 tons, leaves direct for Tauranga this month, and will be followed by a sailing, vessel of 600 tons, bringing navvies, immigrants, and material for the railway. Tatjeanoa, To-day. Intelligence has just been received here from Mr G. Vessy Stewart that he has arranged for the sale of the railway contract to a Syndicate in London. The construction of the railway to the .Lakes is therefore certain. The 8.8. Northumberland, 2,000 tons, has been laid on for Auckland direct with s ttlera for Tauranga, sailing on September 25, and immediately after a sailing vessel of 600 tons, now loading, will leave direct for Tauranga with railway plant and navvies and their families.
