Messrs Matson, Cox and Go.' held their usual weekly sale of stock’ at the Tinwald yards, on Tuesday, the J ith Sept. The entry for sheep was moderate, but in cattle the entries were far more numerous than has taken place for some time in stores and springers, but in beefthe market was again poorly supplied., Sheep were sold as follows - .; —ln fat crossbred, 14.5 6d to 15s od; merinos, 9 s 1° 12s 6d; old merino ewes, ;os to qs l ld; themlb hoggetts, os 3d. In cattle, fat cows, L 8 10s, L 7 12s 6d, L 6 12s 6d, L 5 2s 6d, springertf Lr. Two-year-old mixed cattle, £2 14s; 18 months’ heifers, LII7S. The attendapee at the sale was.a marked improvmtnt, add the bidding far more animated than of late. We held a clearing sale at the . Ashburton Forks last Friday, on the farm of "jjr John Ajtken,: which passed off, most satisfaitorilyj the principal lines being about do.hcad of cattle, mostly springers in forward condition, which realised from L 8 12s fid to LlO ss; yearlings; L2 2S. , Calves, Li 5 s - . The dries were all sold at satisfactory prices. The fatm was, after thfe sale, leased for a term of y<ars at a satisfactory price. : ( .
