Tabfiit, auctioneer) report on the live stock matket for the week ending Bept. 6th, 1883, as follows.;—The yards were moderately filled; tbe.severe weather no doubt kept a good many entries back, and business throughout was only limited.! ; .Merino wethers of various descriptions represented a fair portion yarded, the quality of this c'ass of mutton from very prime to very inferior. Good and prime qiLlity : crossbreds sold at fully is per head below last week's prices. Merino ewes in lamb : There is a fair demand for this class, but for the.limited attendance of buyers on last Tuesday’s; jsale 'day very few of this class of sheep .changed hands. We sold good crossKieds from T : 4s 8d to 16s 6d ; crossbred hoggets, 10s 9.d apd lis; merino ewes, bioken mouthed, 3s ; . and good mouth merino ewes, 756d.-‘ In cattle ; A fair number were yarded, but pot many were sold. We quote for good beef 20s to 21s per loolbs; medium quality, 17s to 20s. We sold a line of springers at 1 4 each.—On Friday last we held a large clearing sale of live and dead stock at Dundas. Considering the bad weather the attendaiye was gbod, and altogether resulted in a fair sale, sheip realised about equal to late quotations. Horses were not in good dema d, notwithstanding we cleared a large number of them at mserker rates, both for draughts and hacks. Considering the season of the year implements sold moderately well.
