[from opr parliamentary correspondent. ]
Wellington, To-day.
The Premier stated in the Legislative Council yesterday that he expected the session to close on the Ist September. In order to get through the work the Council decided to hold an extra sitting this afternoon. Who will say after this that the councillors do not earn their honorarium? The House will sit again at 2.30 on Monday, and towards the close of theweek it is anticipated that morning sittings will be commenced.
Members are now flooding the order papers with questions of a parish character, for example, as to when a bridge between this and that place will bo finished. They want to go back to their constituents with something to show as a result ot the work of the session.
Mr W. 0. Buchanan is to ask the Minister of Defence whether he will put a sum on the Supplementary 'Estimates to increase the capitation for country volunteer corps'from LI to L2 ! J also, whether he will increase the allowance of amunition to volunteer cadet corps.
