RULES AND. REGULATIONS, : 1. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from July 31,1883, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said county during the same period. 4. ’A’ gehtleman rider* shall be deemed to be one who has not ridden for hire during the past five years.
5. All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, and colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Quill’s Hotel, not later than 9 p.m. on Thursday, November Ist. Weights for the first day’s Handicaps and Open Hurdle Race will be published on Friday, NoVbihber 9tb. Weights for other Handicaps will be published at 8 pm. on the evening of thh first day’s racing. 6. Acceptances for the first day s Handicaps; and Open Hurdle Race to be paid to the Secretary not later than 9 jfcin. -on' Tuesday, November 13th; acceptances for other Handicaps at 9 p.m. on evening of first day’s racing. 7. Five per cent will be deducted from the gross of all monies payable in accordance with this programme for expenses of the course. 8. All nominations and acceptances go to the fund. §.
