Mr'Service has decided to issue immediately the necessary formal invitations to the various colonies to join the Annexation Conference. Delegates will probably be asked to meet in the middle of September. Reauiescat in T Pace. Sydney, To-day. A requiem mass for the late Archbishop Vaughan, was celebrated yesterday, and was attended by three Bishops and sixty priests. The ceremony was a most impressive one. The Governor was present.
The Elections. Brisbane, To-day. The returns are now in from twentyone electorates returning twenty-seven members to the new Parliament. Eighteen Opposition and only nine Ministerial candidates have been returned. -
