RULES AND PECULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the; Stewards, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points connected with carrying out this programme to be final. 2. Canterbury: Jockey Club Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from July 31,1883, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said county during the same period, , 4. A gentleman rider shall be deemed to be one who has not ridden for hire during the past five years. 5. All entries and nominations to be accompanied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, and colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Quill’s'Hotel, not later ,than 9 p.m. on Thursday, November Ist. Weights for the first day’s Handicaps and Open Hurdle Raco will be published on Friday,. November 9tb. Weights for other Handicaps will be published at 8, p m. on the evening of the first’ day’s racing. 6.
