White, vinegar manufacturer of Melbourne, who absconded, and who it is alleged* forged numerous bills, amounting to fully LB,ooo, has been arrested on board a steamer which was about to sail for Brisbane—the steamer Lady Bowen—and he had taken passage for Brisbane. He was subsequently brought up at the Police Court and remanded for a week.
