Guardian Office, Thursday afternoon. Messrs Matssn Cox and Co. held their usual weekly-sale of sheep, cattle, and pigs at the Tinwald Yards on Tuesday, August 14th, when-our entries comprised 5°S sheep, .15 pigs, ■''! ahd 'ab head of cattle, for which the following 'prices'' were realised: —iob‘crossbred hdggetts, 9s 3d ; 245 do, 8s 10s ; 161 merino ewes, 6s /, JdIJ? pigs, 335;; it do, 27s 6d ; 2 do, 32s ftd; it rmt'cow, Ls; i‘ do, Ls 17s 6d; 2 cows, L 4 losj; r2 .year old steers, L 3 17s 6d ; yearling Baler/ £2 7s4d‘; <2 fat steers, L 5 Ss; bull, Lx I os; cow, £4 tbs ;7' do, L 6 10s. The sale throughout was a dragging one, caused, no v jloubt,, by the stock entered for sale being un- ‘ suitable for the present requirements of the.district
