No entry will be received except on the condition that all disputes, claims and objections arising out of the racin? shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint; their decision on all points connected; with carrying out this programme to be final. 2. Canterbury Jockey Club Racing Rules strictly adhered to. 3. A district horse shall mean any horse that has been commonly resident in the Ashburton County from July I 31,1883, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting, and owned by a person who has resided in the said county during the same period. 4. A gentleman rider shall be deemed to boom, wKo. has not ridden for hire during the past five years. 5. All entries and nominations to be au companied by entrance fees, name and age of horse, and colors of rider, and in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Quill’s Hotel, not later than 9 p m. on Thursday, November Ist. Weights, for Ih'e ‘first day’s Handicaps and Open Hurdle Race will be published on Friday, November 9th'. Weights for other Handicaps will be published at 8 pm. on the evening of the first day’s racing. 6. .Acceptances the first days Handicaps and Open Hurdle Race to'be paid to the Secretary not' later than 9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13th; ac- i ceptancea for other Handicaps at 9 p.m. ' on evening of first day’s racing. 7.
