In the Legislative Assembly last night a motion by Mr Ward in favor of inviting a'general action of the colonies in regard to New Guinea and the New Hebrides was rejected on a division. The, motion was opposed by the Government, but at the same time Mr Bray, the Premier, announced that he had accepted the invitation of Victoria to Join in ia proposed conference on the annexation question.
