IN THE LOBBY.
[from our parliamentary cobrksfonDENT.] W ELLINGTON, To-day. A debate of some interest is expected to arise on the proposed confirmation of the agreement just made between the Government and the New Zealand Ship* ping Company for a monthly steam service, with England. The matter will probably come before the House to-day, according to political gossip! Another week has been added to the length of the session by Mr Dargaville'e indictment. Besides the time wasted already, there will be mother day’s discussion, which may give dignity to the debate, when the Oommittee’s report on the investigation comes up for adopting. It is rumored that should Mr Dargaville and his party be unable to secure their wishes in respect to the personnel of the Committee, the Opposition will march out of the House in a body, with the object of demonstrating to the country the unfairness of the present proceedings. This rumor is, however, not authenti* cated.
