In the House of Commons last night Mr Gladstone was questioned regarding the course which the Government proposed to adopt with respect to the withdrawal of British troops from Egypt, and the probable duration of the occupation of that country by the British force. In his reply the Premier declined to undertake to consult Parliament before withdrawing the regiments still in Egypt, or to fix the date for the termination of British occupation of that country.
