Ashburton Guardian Office, Saturday afternoon.
Messrs Friedlander Bros, (in conjunction with Messrs R. Wilkin and Co., per Mr F. C. Tabart, auctioneer) report of the last week s sales-as followsAt the Ashburton yards last Tuesday a fair number of sheep came forward, and the most of them consisted of fat sheep, merinos and crossbreds. In sheep our entries Comprised a few small lines, the crossbreds being of very superior- quality, but we were unable to place these at prices satisfactory to Our clients. We quote fat sheep :—Crossbreds from 13s gd to 15s gd ; merinos from 8s 3d to 10s. - We sold a splendid line of sound-mouth merino ewes, in lamb, at 9 s - Iu f cattle we quote same at from 18s to 20s pet loolb. Pigs are in good demand, but none were yarded at the last sale.
