[redter’s telegrams—copyright.] An Uneasy Rumor. London, July 27. It is reported that a case of cholera has occurred at the Docks. The rumor has not however received any trustworthy confirmation. Colonial Defences. Major T. R. Disney, R.A., and Captain Alfred Thomas, R.N., have been appointed military and naval commanders respectively for the colony of Victoria, under the scheme for the reorganisation of the colonial force. Obituary. The death is announced of General Sir Win. Fenwick Williams, G.C.8., formerly Governor of Gibraltar. The Plague in Egypt.. Cairo, July 26. The energetic measures which have been carried out for stamping out the cholera epidemic have already had good effect, and a decrease in the daily number of deaths is now reported.
