RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SOUTH RAKAIA.— Yesterday. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., 8.M., and 0. N. Mackie, Esq.) Abusive Language.—J. Thompson was charged with using abusive language to the stationmaster at Rakaia, and obstructing him in the discharge of his duties. Mr Blackham said the man was drunk and very insulting. Accused was fined 20s and costs.—Another charge against the same man for a similar offence was dismissed. CIVIL CASES. Partrige v. Oalder and Craig.—Claim for L2l 3s Bd. Judgment by default. Same v. Compton.—Claim, 10s. Plaintiff was non-suitad. R. Davies and Co. v. E. S. Lowe.— Claim for LlO 7s 7d. Judgment by default. Same v. W. Street.—Claim for L 8 10s. Judgment lor amount and coats. F. Searle v. W. Wallace. —Claim, L 3 10s. Judgment by default.
