Some fair lines of scoured have changed hands up to ig}4d, and a few lots of greasy up to 9#d. — Sheepsi- ins: Are in better request, and are rapidly cleared at the undermentioned figures : —Best, 5 j£d to yd per lb ; medium, to sdj jer lb ; short-woolled and pelts, 2d to 4<t. —Ta|lpw: This, market is now very firm at nnrdast . —Butter : We have quitted, at auction, a few lines of- New Zealand fresh at 13d to I4d, but for salt we have been unable to obtain anything approaching values ;. we have, therefore, no choice but to hold of make a big sacrifice ; and in the interests of our various clients, we have adopted the former alternative.—Potatoes: It is gratifying, to/ find that the prediction contained in our last report was- correct, the market having hardened as we anticipated. We offered x 100 sacks.ex “ Hauroto”at our auction on Tuesday, hnd sold as follows:—Best quality, L 3 Igsperton; second da, L 3 10s 6d per ton. The sale was .very largely attended, nearly the whole of the principal houses in the produce trade being represented. We now report a fairly firm market at our quotations.—Oats : Considerable quantities remain in store, holders bayingrefused to accept the low prices now tntihg; as a consequence, there have been increased inquiries, and for good feed qualities we think we might anticipate an advance of id to ad pet bushel.—New Zealand Flax : Ll 9 to L2O per ton, but demand only limited.
