SPORTING.
ASHBURTON RACING CLUB.
The Committee of this Club met last evening. Present—Messrs C. W. Purnell (in the chair), W. Saunders, Ttiomas, Hewson, H. Friedlander, Quill, Carter, Drs Russ and Leahy. The Secretary reported that the stewards had determined not to remove the disqualification from the horse Steel Dust The Improvement Committee was empowered to do all necessary work required upon the training and running course. A proposal carried by Dr Leahy at last meeting, in respect to a summer meeting, was, on the motion of that gentleman, rescinded, and it was resolved that the consideration of the subject be postponed for twelve months. hursday and Friday, November 15th and 16th, were fixed as the days on which to hold the annual Spring r>tce meeting, when a sum of about L6OO will be given in stakes. Drs Ross and Leahy and Mr M. Friedlander were appointed a sub-com-mittee to draft programme for the Spring and Autumn meetings, to report to the General Committee in two weeks.
