[REUTER’S TELEGRAMS—COPTRIOHT.] Russia'and Persia* London, July 3. A treaty has been concluded between Persia and Russia to regulate the boundary of the north-east frontier. Terrible Disaster. A vessel named the Daphne was being launched at the Clyde to-day when she upset, and fifty workmen wha were on her decks were drowned. The Cholera in Egypt. Alexandria, July 3. It is intended to disinfect the houses of infected people at Damietta, and burn the bodies of those dying of cholera. A cordon has been estab* lished round the town, and an order has been given to shoot all fugitives from the place. London, July 4. Sir William Gull, an eminent physician, and author of the report on cholera compiled for the Royal College of Physicians, has written a letter to the Press, in which he states his belief that the outbreak of cholera in Egypt will soon subside, and that in his opinion the disease exists only in its milder form, and is not the malignant epidemic known as Asiatic cholera. Recovered. Captain Shaw, Superintendent of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, has _ recovered from the injuries he sustained at a recent fire in Long Acre, and has resumed his official duties. Monetary and Commercial. London, July 3. Consols have further advanced and are quoted to-day at iooj£. New Zealand securities remain at yesterday’s quotations. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, is unchanged at 465, and New Zealand ditto at 42s 6d to 465. Australian tallow—best beef continues at 4XS, and best mutton at 465.
