LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL Wednesday, July 4. BILLS. The New Zealand University Act Amendment Bill was read a first time, and the Married Women’s Property Bill a third time. RETURNS. On the motion of the Hon Mr Chamberlin, a return was ordered of all land reserved for the growth and preservation of timber. rabbit act. The motion of the Hon Mr Chamberlin, that the administration of the Rabbit Act in Auckland isfunsatisfactory, was rejected without debate. BILLS OF EXCHANGE. The Council again went into Committee on the Bills of Exchange Bill which was passed through and read a third time. The Council adjourned at 3.45 p.m. until Friday, there being no business tomorrow.
