London, June 25. The death is announced of the Right Hon Wm. Thomas Knollys, K.G.8., Usher of the lllaok Rod in Parliament. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s vessel Hurunui, which sustained serious damage in collision with the vVaitara on Saturday in the English Channel, has been docked for repairs. June 26. The Anamese are busily engaged in making preparations for a renewal of hostilities with French troops. The former have retired to Soutay, which place they have surrounded with trenches. Owing to the paucity of numbers the French general considers it unwise to renew the attack upon the enemy at present, and he is accordingly awaiting the arrival of reinforcements which have been despatched by the Government. The trial of Norman, ore of the men committed on the charge of being concerned in the recent explosions in London, was concluded yesterday. The jury brought in a verdict of “ Not guilty,” and the prisoner was discharged.
