A SUGGESTION.
To the Editor. Sir, —Hearing a great deal about the poisoned wheat that the County Council have been and are still giving to the far mers for the..destruction <<f small birds, I write through your uio hum to suggest the desirability of the graziers being supplied with a small quantity, as the farmers pest bleed equally as much on the grass farms as on those used for tillage. The lark, their greatest enemy, hatches its young more in meadows than on arable land, Also having been informed that the wheat that has this year been prepared for this district, has already dene great execution, would it no', be advisable for the County Council to grant the stock owners soma of the deadly poison, and thereby successfully accomplish the good work they have undertaken. By kindly inserting this suggestion in your widely spread journal you w ill greatly oblige yours truly, Spero Meliora.
