' Ashburton Guardian Office, Monday aftemoen. Alfred Harrison reports his weekly sale as follows Saturday, June 30 : Very few horses weresold, although l had several enquiries for good teams. Cows found a good sale, every entry being disposed of at good prices, up to L 9 as fid. Pigs were plentiful and prices good, every pin being sold. Fowls, 2s to 3s 4d per pair; ducks, 4s; geese, 9s; turkeys, 13s per ' pair. Implements : Drill, dray, spring trap, ■J'ploaghs, harrows, etc., sold at market values. , Carcase pork, 4d to 4 j£d; inferior, 3d to3>£d. ‘ potatoes, 50s per ton ; carrots, 30s; parsnips, jOs j oats, is to is fid per bushel (200 bushels, a poor lot); chck- wheat, is fid to 2S per bushel Tea, 21s, guaranteed. A large quantity of sundries sold wed, the attendance bein;; a large one throughout the sale. : Mr;T- Bullock reports of the Horse Market .fop the week ending Saturday, 30th inst ITOete was an average attendance of farmers and, others. c Thirty;six horses were brought forward for the: day’s sale, out of which 17 were sold at the following prices ; Medium draughts of a good stamp and with a good de- * mftnd, L2O 10s, L 23; ditto, of a lighter description, Ll 4 I os, 1.15 10s, Ll 6 10s; three-year-old colts, Ll 4 10s to Li 7 ; ditto, of rather a .lighter description, broken in, Ll 3; aged . draughts,. 1 8 $s to Lio 15s ; light harness ’"horses (with little demand), 1.8 to L 9 10s; hacks, L 7 ss; inferior horses,* including very old draughts, Li 15s to L 3 10s.
