Mr S. £> Poyntz reports having disposed of durihf thd vyeek : —A fom -roomed House on half an acre, on the North-east Belt ; half an acre in Allenton; and a quarter acre section in Tiniritlof at -prides satisfactory to vendors. There is a disposition to move in town sections and house properties if vendors’ prices assimilated more to purchasers’ values. A small farm of about 100 acres of good land, within easy distance of town, I could place readily at a fair price.
The Sydney Markets. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report of the Sydney markets as follows :—Wool: Only ■mall catalogues have been submitted since our last,report, and prices remain without quotable .changei-^-oheepskins: Brisk competition is a raftig' feature just now in this market.. We qnote for jnedium to good, to 6 t£d per lb ; uotLjjdjtO'4d 'Per lb j - pelts, 2d to ?.%d per lb.OTstlR)W: The market is brisk, especially for shipping parcels. We quote prime mutton, L 37 K> L3B pee Jon ; ditto beef, L 33 10s toL3S per ton ; medium, L3l to L 33 per ton. •—Butter: The market for New Zealand butter shows Doimprovement Whatever, and with the present feeling it is exceedingly difficult to make anything like a clearance. We have placed a shipping lineof prime at is 2d, but this must .beliegarded'as an extreme rate, Stocks bring heavy and business flat. We quote prime : New Zealand, in kegs, 13d to triftoib; i&frior, tod to nd per lb.—Oats : Stocks are moving off gradually at the under. m&tionfed x figures Prime feed, 2s 6d to 2s qdipecibttshel;; inferior, 2s 2d to is 4<L 1,000 «««« were offered yesterday, (June 6) but the bulk was withdrawn for lack of competition.
The Nev?. Zealand Loan and Mercantile Amity Company, Limited (per Mr E. G. StfcMley, auctioneer), report as under on Tin* wjdd-saleat june 19th. —Sheep; A moderate both fat and store were yarded; but thedemand was not at all brisk, and several lots bad to be withdrawn. The market opened veqdf&lfyWilh the fat slock, of which seme were placed at the following prices:—Crossbred ewes I Is6d, mixed ewes 13s fid, wethers 14x3d and' 14s yd, merino wethers 8s yd. Stows*:’ Several lines passed. A fair enquiry for realjy. good sound mouth wethers, rf in forward, condition, which realised 7s; aged ewes in liunb, 35 2d,' mixed crossbreds 8s 6d.— Cattle : This Sale was a mere repetition of wba|<we have now had to submit to for a considerable lime j past There was a numerous entry, of which, however, the bulk consisted of mecUdmstores and young stock, classes, at thf prgsent season, very difficult to quit, even at ruling prices. A few fat cows and heilers wert Submitted,’making L 4«s 6d, L$ 12s 6d, I&ysdd, and up to Ly 2s 6d. Some very ordinary springers and milkers brought L 3, L37* 6d and L 4 ss. The majority of the young sorts were passed in. Those disposed of realised 37s fid to 45s for 18 months mixed sexes; 40s to 60s for two-year-old heifers, and nominal values for anything of smaller growth.
